Cylinder Head Rebuilding

The first thing you need to consider is getting the most bang for your hard-earned buck. Most modern day cylinder heads use titanium valves with a powder metal steel seat. This is done by manufacturers in order to keep the overall cost down on the production of the motorcycle. This is good for the pencil crunchers at the company, but bad for you, the consumer, who purchases the bike. With this type of application it will give the cylinder head a short life span of operation and could lead to the need for new valves, which can be quite expensive. To help eliminate the need for these potential problems the best solution is to replace the valve seats with seats made of better material than the stock seats, which will both dissipate heat and cushion the valves much better. Doing this will save you a lot of money in the long run as your engine will continue to run longer, thus drastically reducing the money you will spend on replacement parts.

In most cylinder head applications the replacement of the seats and guides is $395.00 and includes CNC-machined valve seat profiles that are designed to enhance air-flow over the stock valve job.
